Gothic-Oh how I love this!Wait till you here this,its to die for!Goth is a contemporary suculture that is known throughout the world.It began in the UK during the late 1970s and early 1980s its based off the Post-Punk genre.The imagery and cultural problivities are influenced from the 19th century Gothic Literature.The Goth tastes in music and fashion has a number of different styles.The most common has a dark sound and outlook.The fashion styled clothing is death rock,punk,Victorian(now dont you remember how those clothes were,I loved them),androgynous,and some renaissance clothing.Also has lots,not all,buts lost of BLACK attire,make-up and hair.Now thats not what your going to love.Its what Im about to say.You remember the movie The Crow??Was a good movie wasnt it??Guess what,based off GOTH music and STYLE!What about the Tim Burton movies?Goth!!Beetle Juoce,Edward Scissorhands,The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Corpse Bride all based off gothic music.O_O oh the horror,how could this be??Those movies were so innocent,well get the fuck over it.Its all true.Look it up yoursleves.
Punk-Punk is based on the punk rock music style.It emarged in the US and UK in the mid 1970s,it now has spread and evolved around the world.Punk is also made up of smaller subcultured,such as:Anarcho-Punk,Crust Punk,Hardcore,and horror punk.Several subcultured came from punk and is now a different sterotype such as,goth,psychobilly and emo.Punks usually become this way in early highschool or late middleschool.
Emo-Emo is a slang expression used to desribe a range of clothing sense,music,and how they act.As an adj,emo is a certain type of fashion or music,or a general state of experiencing unhappiness,loneliness,depression,or melancholy.Emo is also being used as a noun,often in a perjorative sense to identify a member of this subculture.
Ska-Ska is a form of Jamaican music which began as early as the 1930s.its usually listened to by rudeboys,mods,and Skinheads(which I will go into later on)There are 3 "waves" of ska,There was the revival of note in England in the later 1970s and early 1980s,and another wave of popularity in the US in the 1990s.Ska today is an underground music scene.
SkinHeads-Named after their shaven heads are members of a subcultured that came from Britain in the late 1960s.Where they were closely tied to the Rude Boys of the west Indes and the Mods of the uk.There are severeal different types of skin heads.
Trads-Trad Skinheads often do not regard attitudes toward racism as central to the subculture.
Anti-Racist and Anti-Facist-This category includes SHARP(SkinHeads Against Racial Prejudice),RASH(Red and Anarchist SkinHeads)
White Power skins and Nazi-SkinHeads-Racist and higly political.These skinheads have no connection to the other skinhead.SHARPS and Trad skinheads refer to them as BoneHeads.
HardCore skins-This is the US version which is part of the hardcore punk music scene.Political veiws vary and are not important to this group.
